The difference between ‘want’ and ‘need’ is the difference between facts and feelings, analysis and assumption, business and busy-ness. Even with a check list you will (need to) find other items of interest or of potential impact and they can be captured 24/7, via the casual and even structured conversations (like CRM or VRM) that surround us. We can come to know what they ‘want’ so we can do what we ‘need’ to meet that opportunity. I predict that the next ‘Gold Rush’ will occur when social media is used to converge casual conversation into dynamic ‘collaboration on purpose’ – to identify issues and solve real-world problems (more than just needs and sales) – and in real-time, 24/7. That groundswell will involve ALL of us in a global relationship management (GRM) opportunity. How can we gain the foresight to know what we ‘need’ to be ready to stake our claim in that ‘land rush’? – perhaps we should begin to (ASK4 ) it…
