Why Use SocialMedian?

socialmedianRecently Jason Goldberg, CEO of SocialMedian, asked me if I’d do a video testimonial as to why I use SocialMedian. Given how often I referred to the site and how much content I gleam from it I agreed to his request. Subsequently I began to think of the value and utility I, as a social media strategist and blogger, gain from SocialMedian. Below is some of the value and utility that SocialMedian has provided me and I’ve included the video I sent to Jason at the end.

Why I use SocialMedian:

First let’s put things into perspective. The social web is exploding with news, commentary and advancements on a daily basis. Keeping up with the daunting task of keeping track is to say the least a challenge.

Second, SocialMedian includes over 18,000 feeds for news sources throughout the social web and 800 stories posted per minute. Just think about the volume of data pouring into SocialMedian.

Third, SocialMedian has categorized the flow of information into content categoris establish by the users as revelant content categories worthy of tracking.

Fourth, the movers and shakers of the social web use SocialMedian and contribute to its content on a daily basis. The ability to follw those you respect as authorities on the cutting edge of developments helps sort through the clutter and noise created by everyone having an opinion on everything.

Fifth, you get self satisfaction when others follow you or clip your stories as newsworthy and valuable. After all, there is a human desire to be known as contributing value to others and this features enables that desire.

Besides these attributes there are many other reasons I use SocialMedian including:

  1. Time saving because you can find all the most recent news and perspectives
  2. Tracking what other authorities consider relevant
  3. The content provokes ideas for writing blogs expanding upon others perspectives
  4. The interface and content categorization is user friendly
  5. Jason Goldberg and team are constantly adding features and functions that increase utility

Unless someone points me to something of higher value I am and will remain a loyal fan of SocialMedian.

What say you? Below is what I say.
