The “Canvas” Can Do Miracles

by Jay Deragon on 08/06/2010

The word canvas implies an extremely heavy-duty plain-woven fabric used for making sails, tents, marquees, backpacks, and other functions where sturdiness is required.

The “Web” is also considered a “canvas” where conversations are “painted” for the world to see and observe. Some conversational canvases are more sturdy than others.

The word sturdy implies firmly built or constituted : sound in design or execution : substantial. Sturdy conversations represent substantial insight, wisdom and meaning. You can spot them by the context of their content and the relevant philosophy reflected by the knowledge embedded in the conversation.

Conversational canvases embedded with profound knowledge can provide readers with the wisdom and understanding they seek. Thus enabling others to create “miracles” within their own lives through the application of the wisdom provided. On the other hand conversational canvases that aren’t sturdy do not withstand the test of time nor the attention of an audience.

A sturdy conversation  sails with the winds of change because it captures the momentum of insight, the force of change and creates “waves” behind them. A sturdy conversation  is like paradise to those seeking wisdom. To paraphrase Christoper Cross’s song I’ve change the lyrics while furthering the context to the Hippie 2.0 philosophy. Sail away…..and let us be free from stale winds grounded in the wrong philosophy.

It’s not far down to paradise
At least it’s not for us
And if the wind is right you can sail away
And find tranquility
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me

It’s not far to never never land
No reason to pretend
And if the wind is right you can find the joy
Of insight again
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me

Sailing
Takes me away
To where I’ve always heard it could be
Just a dream and the wind to carry me
And soon I will be free

Fantasy
It gets the best of us
When we’re sailing
All caught up in the reverie
Every word is a symphony
Won’t you believe me

It’s not far back to sanity
At least it’s not for us
And when the wind is right you can sail away
And find serenity
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me
